Emotions can be intimidating when we dont feel confident in our ability to help manage their intensity when they are activated in our bodies. Part of the work is building your skill in the area of learning how to regulate your emotions. So that you can lean in safely as well as step back safely when it is needed.
A Letter from me to you
I'm grateful to the humans who every day grant me access to participate in the unmasking and witnessing process that is involved in truly being seen.
As a consultant to your healing process, I can say with complete conviction that you are the real superheroes. Vulnerability is truly a dance of tolerating the discomfort found in truly being seen by others and even more so seeing yourself and not having any control over the outcome.
Thank you for the courage you demonstrate daily in granting us both access.
The shared learning is constant. Thank you for your commitment, willingness, and motivation to unlearn and relearn alongside me and the inevitable impact this has on the collective and the community healing as a whole.
Thank you for teaching me that sometimes safety is not possible and or truly possible for all people and the more realistic goal is Safe Enough.
Thank you for allowing me to get to know the beauty inherent in your internal system, and all of the survival skills and adaptations that you have acquired in order to navigate your environments. They were necessary.
And yet you are tasked on this journey of updating and allowing space to remain for what's working and serving your functioning
